Why Choose Lake to Lake?

Loveland Lake to Lake Triathlon is proudly known for striking the perfect balance between being a very beginner-friendly race where athletes who are new to the sport can ask the questions they need to feel comfortable and have a successful day (everyone from our staff to volunteers, our sponsors, and other athletes are willing to help) and at the same time attracting a high level of talent from outside the state as well as athletes from CU and CSU. Every year this race is used by many as either their introduction to our amazing sport or their shot to qualify for USAT Nationals.

No matter the athlete’s background, everyone will be able to relish in our friendly local atmosphere, incredible volunteer support, a scenic course, and a shady venue that makes spectating enjoyable for the whole family (even a playground for the kids!). Plus, you won’t find a better post-race meal anywhere else.

Athletes have described our course as…

Swim: Nearly glassy water that’s typically warmer 71-73 degrees due to its shallow depth.

Bike: Scenic with a little bit of everything – steady climb (but nothing unmanageable), technical spots, fast downhills, and a flat straightaway.

Run: Flat and fast out-and-back around the lake, catching a cool breeze off the water.

Regardless of your level or what you’re looking for, you’ll find that L2L is the perfect fit for you. We look forward to having you at our 20th anniversary in 2021!

What our Athletes have said

L2L has succeeded over the years because they have done what many fail to do to earn long term customers. You always know when you race L2L you are getting an organized event, great venue, and the best post race meal. We were there for the first year and this race is always one of our favorites. Can’t wait to race the 20th. Kudos to Peggy for bringing this race to our area for 20 years.

I have participated in L2L nearly every year since it started. I keep coming back because i think the courses are great, both scenic and challenging, particularly the bike. Peggy puts together a great race, details dialed in, well supported, and a really nice post-race meal. Supporting a Colorado local event.
